There are many fascinating and varied styles in stained glass browse our Gallery.

A popular choice for our customers is to reflect the traditional style of the street.

As we have been working Coventry for over 20 years it is quite likely that we may already have information about your street. If not, then any research we do to establish what may have been in your house originally is free of charge.

Before we suggest a design we consider the following points;

  • the date of the house
  • its location and whether it is terraced or detached
  • if there is any original stained glass in the house
  • whether any houses in the street have original glass

Although traditional work remains popular we have worked on many exciting modern projects. Frequently the driving force that motivates our customers with regard to modern work is having a strong interest or hobby and the desire to see this interest reflected in glass in a personal way. Other motivations include having children with artistic flair!

Prices vary according to the complexity of a design, however, most customers are pleasantly surprised by our prices. If you have any concerns about cost please telephone us or call into the shop and we will explain our pricing in more detail.

Occasionally customers like to take their own measurements. This can be useful  when providing initial quotations.

If you are keen to take accurate measurements these are the steps you need to take;

Cross Section of a Door / Window Frame

  1. As you can see from the drawing the glass panel is slightly larger than it looks in situe. This is because  whatever has been used to fix the glass in place, most commonly putty or beading, hides the remaining glass.

    There are two sizes that you need to take; sight size and tight size. The sight size is the most important  and is simply from edge of glass where it meets the door / window  frame to opposite edge of glass. As glass tends to be glazed both internally and externally it is impossible to say whether this will be on the inside or the outside.

    You can easily distinguish it from the tight size, however, as the tight size is simply from edge of wood to edge of wood but also includes the small bit extra which is covered by beading or putty. Typically the  tight size is about 18 - 28 mm more than the sight size.
